McLean, VA - AppTek, Inc., a leading technology developer of state-of-the-art applications in computational linguistics and linguistic software (" Lingware"), has recently completed a successful implementation of a language application solution for Itsisalat, one of the largest telecommunications carriers in the Middle- East region. The project, involving a joint effort with Compaq and AltaVista, utilizes AppTek's multi-lingual information retrieval system with query translation, morphology and thematic search capability.

This project was under the direct supervision of AppTek's Chief Technology Officer, Steven Cook. "I am very proud of our technical team for having completed this important implementation under very stringent technical requirements and in an unprecedented time frame. Our client, Itisalat, was extremely pleased with the systems and procedures we had utilized for this project," Cook said.
